  1. You Are What You EAT! ( Let me say it louder for the people in the back)

You want Healthy Skin, but do not want to invest in what goes in your body? Food plays a huge role on the affects and outcome of how our skin turns out. Changing your daily diet can /will improve your skin’s health. A simple switch from oily foods to baked foods, will change your mood and skin’s tissue. Substitute your artificial sugars for natural sugars in fruits and vegetables. In-fact, Eating more greens will not only improve your mental, but will also reflect on your physical. Face it, when we have clearer skin we are naturally happier individuals.

Some skin/cell boosting foods to consider

    • Baked Salmon or any fatty fish, such as mackerel and herring: These fishes contains rich sources of omega-3 fatty acids, which are important for maintaining skin health. Omega-3 fatty acids help keep the skin thick, supple and moisturized.

The omega-3 fats in fish help reduce inflammation, which can cause redness and acne.

    • Dark Leafy greens: Spinach and kale are great source of foods for skin’s health. These greens contains a large portion of fat in omega-3 fatty acids. The nutrients it contains support healthy skin, hair, and bones.

    • Avocados: good source of vitamin E, which is an important antioxidant that helps protect your skin from oxidative damage.

    • Vitamin C foods: broccoli, strawberry, oranges, lemon, green etc.

    • Green smoothies. Make a quick smoothie mixed with your favorite fruits, but heavy on veggies such as kale and spinach.

  2. HYDRATION is KEY!

Yes, you have to drink water and lots of it. I know you may be tired of drinking water and do not see a change in your skin. That is why changing your diet is very important. Changing the foods you eat from processed to more natural foods, will always come first! Eating more vegetables will improve your overall health. Although your diet is very important, hydrating your cells is equally important. Drinking water renews your skins tissue, and produces new, supple skin! Water can be boring, and you may not know if you’re drinking enough. Se below for tips:

How much water you should be drinking and Ways to make your water more interesting.

    • Based on your weight and activity level, you should measure the water you drink daily by doing this equation- Weight/2= oz of water you drink. You can drink more or less depending on your activity level.

    • Add fruits and veggies to your water to spruce it up and make it taste better. Drinking water doesn’t have to be boring. My favorite is adding cucumber and lemon in my water, give it a very refreshing taste. You can add whatever fruit of your desire.

  3. Start an activity/ workout plan

Joining a gym or simply doing an activity that makes you sweat, will improve your skin’s health. Working out help rid your skin of toxins and leave room for healthy cell growth.

  4. Don’t Sleep On Sleep.

Getting enough rest is very important to your health and building new cell tissues. “Not enough sleep makes immune-related skin problems worse. Increased inflammation in the body throws off the body's ability to regulate the immune system, which leads not only to getting sick more often, but also to flares of immune-related skin diseases such as psoriasis and eczema. Psoriasis is not just a skin disease; it's also an indicator of body inflammation. “

  5. Natural Skincare Products/Routine

It is very important to use natural skincare products in your daily routine. Our skin is the largest organ on our body, it absorbs everything that is placed on it.
